Software for imaging linux

Does anyone knows a software to create an image of a linux pc??
Other than Altiris.

I want to make a copy of a server, in order to prove some upgrades to my system an applications, but I don't want to take the risk and do in it online.

Thanks.

dd can make a bit level copy of your hard drive or partitions to another hard drive or partitions.

There's also "Ghost for Linux" ( G4L / http://sourceforge.net/projects/g4l ), which is supposed to work like Symantec Ghost.

Clonezilla is freeware and works very nicely. I use it to image all of my Windows and Linux computers at home. In fact, I wish I could use it at work, but Symantec Ghost is the only authorized cloning software we have, and I'm having a really hard time getting it to work with Linux.

Check out mondorescue.org.

From the website:
Mondo is reliable. It backs up your GNU/Linux server or workstation to tape, CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R[W], DVD+R[W], NFS or hard disk partition. In the event of catastrophic data loss, you will be able to restore all of your data [or as much as you want], from bare metal if necessary. Mondo is in use by Lockheed-Martin, Nortel Networks, Siemens, HP, IBM, NASA's JPL, the US Dept of Agriculture, dozens of smaller companies, and tens of thousands of users.

.. And it's free!
