smlink driver for usb modem

has anyone successfully installed smlink latest driver slmodem-2.9.4.tar.gz
for usb modem under kernel 2.6?

i compiled it with no error under my new kernel 2.6.1 but i just cant get kppp to dial.

i do think that i have necessary things compiled into kernel for my usb modem.

does it support your modem? and was your usb controller working?
did "dmesg" see your modem?

yup.
i download it from the same site where the previous version does work for me in default kernel 2.4.20-8 (RH9). on that page it direct me to a latest version and only version that support kernel 2.6 bu it is beta driver.

what is dmesg?

well it might be a bug in the new driver
i would check does ppp stuff enabled in your compiled kernel first

i dont have sysfs, will that be the problem?
i only have devfs and i dont have modem character device in my /dev after compiling and installing it
