smbmount script

I made a script to mount a samba share from a windows computer on a domain. I have been working a while to get everything working, and I think I'm am getting close. The error I get now says that the place I want to mount the share to on the linux box "is a directory" or something along those lines.

I am using the "smbmount" command, since "mount -t smbfs" seems to need root priviledges, which I don't feel like setting up

I don't have the script on this computer, so I cant actually post it, but any suggestions I you could give would help me out.

Also, once I get the script working, I need to know where to put it. The script takes information from the user currently logged in, (username, password, domain). The problem with copying it to the autostart folder in the users home directory is that users home directories aren't created until the user logs in, so I wouldn't be able to set it up for the user until they log in for the first time. Is there a place to put it where it would affect any/all users who log in?

Im using Suse 10.2 and KDE (not sure if that matters for this situation)

Sorry for the vague descriptions, but I don't actually have the computer that has the script,( its a school computer, and I'm not sure how deep of shit I would be in bringing it home, but am not willing to find out.)

Put the script in /etc/skel and then every new account created will have this script in their home directory.

It worked... I had to create a .kde/autostart folder inside that, but it seemed to work. Thanks for the quick reply... now If I could just get the script working everything would be great. Thanks for the help.

Ok... so I've spent a while on this, fixing up the script and whatnot... One of the major problems I had was that the folder I wanted was a subdirectory of the mount (I wanted //server/students/Name, but I needed to just have the Name folder shared as its own share, rather than accessing it the way I was.) The problem now is that I apparently dont have something set up correctly to mount smb shares. I noticed that the smbfs service is enabled but now working. When I try to start it it tells me

/etc/init.d/smbfs start returned 6 (program is not configured):

Any Ideas/suggestions?
