small footprint systems?

hi all...
this may not be the right forum...
i'm in the market for a new machine. my main concern is form factor. i would like a small case that could be easily mountable on a wall or under a desk. i have come across this system from dell (case and mounting pictures):

dell sx260

the problem with it is that it has an integrated video chip (shared main memory) , no pci , and no firewire. i love its small footprint, latest chipset (p4 3.06). the 6 usb2 ports (2front, 4 back) rock.

i would like firewire , but usb2 is good for an external hd. the main issue is the video card. of course i want something better (ati 9700). a case that has a mobo like a 1u server with a pci daughter card would be good. athlon xp 2700+ (nforce 2 ) mobo's are cool too.

the new case that alienware is selling is a step in the right direction...

alienware case

any companys out there doing this stuff? any cases available (putting the pieces in is not a problem) ? any thoughts?

tia,

alex

Via makes some MicroATX form motherboards with integrated everything. They're not high-powered but they're quite cheap. Last time I looked they were pushing a MicroATX for multimedia.

http://us.shuttle.com/specs2.asp?pro_id=76 is another one I saw today although it was because it was a link provided by an LQ user who is having some momentary freezes. It's a small motherboard, but you could pop it out and use the case for a breadbox. Provided that you buy bread that is shorter and more square-ish than a regular loaf.

thanks a lot for the suggestions. the shuttle stuff looks great so does the jadetec stuff.

this looks particularly interesting...

sn41g2

this is really what i am looking for , the mobo has the latest nforce2 chipset for the fastest amd's and has a pci/agp slot for the ati 9700 pro.

looks like a winner.

thank you both for your help,

alex
