Sis735 chipset & RedHat 7.2

I have computer with the SiS735 chipset, & it's dual booting Win98SE & RedHat 7.2.

System Specs:
This is a Barebones system from www.cpubuilders.com & sold at Sam's Club.
SiS735 chipset (Onboard sound,NIC, & 32Mb AGP Video Card)
AMD Athlon XP 1800
Western Digital 60 Gig 7200 rpm Hard Drive
256Mb PC2100 DDR
15" SVGA Monitor

The starter kit came with 2 RedHat 7.2 CDs, so I setup a Windows part., a ext3 Linux part., a Linux swap part. everything went good on install, NIC sound, video all work in win98 but when I boot into RedHat I have no sound and my NIC isn't found (both are onboard). I have a 3Com 3C905tx NIC & a soundblaster 16 PCI soundcard. My question is can I install the soundcard & NIC, then disable the onboard crap in the BIOS & get them to work? Or should I download patches and recompile my kernel?

I had almost the same problem, most mboard nowadays auto disable their onboard components, but I would check vendors website or motherboard.org to find out exactly what you might have to do.
