Simple one way annoucement
Dear All,
I am considering writing a simple program using php, mysql and mail() function to send out announcement to my users.
Before I embarked on the project and not to re-invent any wheel that is already around. I would like to know if there is any such similar program around.
I search freshmeat and found a lot of mailing list, majordomo, etc, which I don't really need all the features. I don't need to have any subscription feature. I have my list of users and will manually add to my list when there is new user.
My simple requirement:
- Key in my msg on a php form and submit it.
- retrieve email address from MySQL db
- send it out via mail() function to users.
- a scheduler is good, so that I can schedule it to send on non-peak period.
Not to worry, I am not sending SPAM emails or ADVERTISING Email.
That's why I want it to be one way, so others cannot use my list to send SPAM.
I would like to send out announcement to like virus outbreak, technology updates to my users.
