shortcut for switching desktops

hello all,

is there a shortcut for switching between the 4 desktops
(gnome and kde solutions would be nice (although I'm on gnome atm)).

I find moving and clicking with the mouse very annoying...

In KDE Ctrl and F1 to F4 switch between four desktops.
