Shell problems
 

Anytime I try to ctrl+altF1 or any other shell, even if I try to boot into terminal; I keep getting this long string of text that looks like a dhcp loggin on it starts off with DROPPED In= and goes through a long line which includes my PC's IP. What is going on and how do I stop it?

Even if I login to say ctrl+alt+F1 the lines start, if I wait a few seconds I get the lines whether or not I login.

This is on a laptop with the laptop-mode running. Debian Testing.

The text looks like it could be the dhcpclient or the laptop-mode; they both do similiar things when booting.

Sounds like iptables logging to me. Check out your firewall configuration, and see if any rules are set tolog dropped packets. Also, you might want to check what the log-level is set to (if anything) and ensure that these are not emergency messages.. these firewall logs should being written to /var/log/messages via syslog. Also double check that syslog is running and that the partition (/var?) containing the syslog files isn't full.
