Sharing Internet Connection Windows <- Linux (Fedora Core 3)

Hi,

I have a problem with connection sharing. I have a home server with Fedora Core 3 Linux installed and 2 nic cards in it, one for internet and one for lan. So, i can ping a computer in my network and i can ping the server from that computer. But internet doesn't work? any ideas?

Thanks.

This doc solved the problem, when I was running redhat 8/9, some time ago: http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/Masquerading-Simple-HOWTO/

Remember to edit the ppp stuff, if you use ethernet.

umm.. ok, i was trying something with firestarter before.. how can i remove it? and i have a slight problem with iptables:

[root@BleBox e6]# iptables -F
bash: iptables: command not found
[root@BleBox e6]#

but i installed iptables, then i updated whole system and they were installed again? so what now? :/

edit: when i boot the system it says Starting iptables [ ok ] so im really lost atm

Tell fedora to remove it with yum (guess thats the name of the utility?). But IŽn not sure removing firestarter is necessary for iptables to work.

(and i have a slight problem with iptables:

[root@BleBox e6]# iptables -F
bash: iptables: command not found
[root@BleBox e6]#)

Thats weird. Try to call iptables by the absolute path, eg, /usr/bin/iptables (or whatever the path is).

The command

whereis iptables

can tell you where is it.

(but i installed iptables, then i updated whole system and they were installed again? so what now? :/)

Well, if you donŽt really have iptables, which I dont think its the case, you only have to install it again.

thanks, this did the trick!

[root@BleBox ~]# iptables
iptables v1.2.11: no command specified
Try `iptables -h' or 'iptables --help' for more information.
[root@BleBox ~]# iptables -H

yey
