If you mean whether you can read a mounted CD
from XP, the answer is yes, and you can use
Samba for that.
If you want to be able to burn, the answer is:
maybe. If the cdrtools can be compiled in
Windows, e.g. in cygwin, you may be able to
use the CD-R via the RSCSI interface. But
I've never tried it, and have NO information
on whether cdrtools can be built in windows
(and I can't be bothered looking that up for
you, either ;}). In this scenario Samba wouldn't
have a place at all, and there would be no
windows-drive assigned to it, either.
Whether there's other ways I don't know,
just google ;}
Cheers,
Tink
