Question Severe memory leakage! (Kernel or KDE)

Hi!

I've been having a rather neck breaking problem here for the past 2 weeks .. I've upgraded my kernel to 2.4.26 (today applied rc3 patch) and KDE 3.2.3 all at the same day 2 weeks ago..

* I had some trouble starting kdm, some moudles were damaged

Since then, X crashes and restarts by itself; After I worked it out .. I ran ksim, and noticed the following ::

-Starting memory 280MB (out of 512MB) ram
-After 30 minutes of normal usage -> memory=12MB !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This stinks !!!

I thought this would be a kernel issue .. so I applied the rc3 patch but same crap
I switched to GNome, same thing!

This is bugging me!

I'm gonna install Slackware 10.0 (notice the .0 ) but I wanna where/why this happeneing before I do!

* Plz post here if you had similar problems

Thanks in advance

Angry KDE/X

I have reinstalled RedHat 9 (OOOLD!!!) and there were no memory leackage problems .. so I guess the conclusion is that the problem is with KDE or X windows

I installed Slackware 10 with GNome only .. I'm still suffering!

Any suggestions? solutions? plz help!!!!
