Setting up for multiple ELO touchscreens

Does anyone know if RH9.0 or RH Enterprise will allow dual touchscreen inputs?

I'm trying to go from using two separate PCs, one for each touchscreen, to only one PC. I can't really do a test case, since my existing video cards only allow one output. But, (if this could work) I'm planning on buying one of the Quadro FX series or GeForce 6800 video cards which will take care of the dual video out.

But, ELO says that their Linux drivers will not allow multiple touchscreens on one PC, and that a third party driver would be needed.

So, that brings me to this question: Is this even going to be possible?

How hard would it be to alter one touchscreen input driver so that it would accept two?

Would it really be all that different from having a drawing pad and a mouse as two separate but acceptable inputs?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Michael

Might be possible

I don't see why this wouldn't work as long as you directed the X system, in X86Config, to use two different ports for the two instances. You can review the driver xf86Elo.c and just make sure that it doesn't use a system resource that would provent it from loading on two ports.

Be fun to try.
