setting hostname
 
I have RH Linux 8.0 . My Hostname is Metro9 , now i want to change the hostname
to Metro1. I have tried the hostname -v command for setting the hostname, it does work
but after rebooting , again original hostname comes ...please help.

hmmm...have you tried editing /etc/hosts ? I don't see why it would get over-rided at boot but maybe going directly to the source would help.

I got it. I have changed the hostname in /etc/hosts as well as in /etc/sysconfig/network file.
It worked.
