Setting a user quota


When I try to use edquota I get an error saying that there are no filesystems with quota detected. I tried using quotaon, but athough I don't get an errror with it, it doesn't help. What should I do

What do you get from

quotaon -p

Sorry my thinking was off, wrong system...

ANyway found this http://www.swelltech.com/pipermail/w...il/010184.html its
for redhat 7.2 but should give you clues for any system.

I added this:

LABEL=/home /home ext3
defaults,usrquota

But I still get the same problem.

What about the init code in /etc/rc.sysinit?

Hmm the last thing I can think of is rm the quota.user and touch, with both quota.user & aquota.user. and see which one works. Besides that the only thing I can say is try http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/Quota.html

This may have the solution.
