set up MUA under only has console system

Hey,

I installed debian etch on my old pc. Right now I can not set up the GUI. I'm wondering is that possible I could set up my computer be able to read email within it? If it is possible which package should I use? Do they have a manual coming with them?

BTW, I do not have static IP address for my computer.

Thanks a lot!

Rocky

Yes.
Your choice.
At least a man page.

The above are the answers to your actual Q's, which sound like you didn't do a whole lot of searching before you posted. Did you try using/searching:
  • Google?
  • LQ?
  • Wikipedia?

Hint: I found your answer 3 clicks deep in Wikipedia starting from "MUA".

More & more I'm finding that Wikipedia, not Google, is the first place I look.

You might want to search in your package manager and find out which packages are available.

Some packages have a <package>-doc package that includes documentation. Other packages will install a manpage file & an info manual. If you find the manpage useful and would like to print it out, I'd recommend using "man -t <topic> | lpr". Sometimes having a printed version of the documentation while running the program is useful. If you will be working in a virtual console exclusively, I would recommend the screen program, although switching between virtual terminals is handy as well.
