hi guys.. i hope you can help me with this...
i am a newbie in using Linux... just got my info through reading some articles...
i am setting up a new server to be our gateway to the internet.
it also houses our web pages...
our old server has something like 20GB disk space, 512MB memory and the new server comes with 80GB, 1GB of memory... i'll transfer the webpages from the old server to this new server, and make the new server as the gateway server...
i am reading the posted article at this website -
http://www.linuxdevcenter.com/lpt/a/4379
can i bypass the line
ln -s /dev/ttyS0 /dev/mouse
for the moment, since there is only one modem here at the office and it still connected to our current web server...
i issued the command
wvdial
and got some messages like:
--> WvDial: Internet dialer version 1.54.0
.
.
.
--> Modem not responding
the modem is not yet connected so, i guess this will happen...
also, i have copied the
wvdial.conf file from the old web server and put it into the new server under the /etc/wvdial.conf.... this is because it contains the settings to our ISP, so I thought it will be easier for me to do it that way... what problems should I expect?
this will be all for now....
