sendmail - rebuilding aliases

I would like to rebuild the aliases db when I'm not logged in as root.
I'm working on a program that must be able to create new maillists in the aliases file.

Hope you can help me...

Setup sudo but no matter, should be either done by root or using sudo, to prompt for a password. It just increases the security when dealing with this file.
