Sendmail problem

Hey guys, my e-mail/webserver started acting up about an hour ago. Whenever i try to send an email i get a message saying:

"this operation requires authentication. Please enter your username and password"

of course it doesnt except the password the password dialogue just keeps popping up over and over.

So far my web server works fine, incoming email works fine, but i cant send emails.

In my mail log the error message reads something like:

"sendmail[1544]: NOQUERE: [my ip] did not issue MAIL/EXPN/VRFY/ETRN during connection to MTA"

All of my system and cram-md5 passwords are still the same as theyve always been. If anyone can help me id really appreciate it.

no, but you could try rebuilding the config file /etc/mail/sendmail.cf as you did when you installed it.
