I am using Linuxconf generated file sendmail.cf file and i want to add settings to it to allow relay for certain list of domains as we have in case of "relay-domains" file.
If i give you my sendmail.cf file, can you tell me that what settings should be added to it to make it work that way?
Just include up to the format section. Or don't include the bottom half where all the S(Number) Rules start.
Generally, you might be able to find it by doing grep -i relay sendmail.cf - the line may be commented out or not exist. If you post it, I should be able to see it. A relay file is pretty simple to set up, once you tell sendmail where it should be. It's a regular hash map, so you can make it, update it, etc, with
makemap hash filename <filename
That's pretty much what the newaliases command does to recreate the /etc/aliases.db file

you may be using a file called access, or access.db
Sorry for the delay, but could you also do a grep -i for access?
If that doesn't show up, it's possible that your sendmail was compiled without it, but I noticed that certain sendmail relay rules exist, so I think it was.
If you have sendmail-devel installed, could you post the *.mc files that came with it? These are compiled with m4 to create the sendmail cf and that would show if the relaying feature was compiled in, too.
This is the sendmail.cf file generated by sendmail.mc:
