I get the same thing, but mine works fine:
Code:
$ netstat -nl | grep ':25'
tcp 0 0 127.0.0.1:25 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN
Can you try the following telnet command and see if you get the error shown?
Code:
$telnet 192.168.1.250 25
Connecting To 192.168.1.250...Could not open connection to the host, on port 25: Connect failed
or
telnet: connect to address 192.168.1.250: Connection refused
If you get one of those errors then something may be wrong with your config. Does the following happen for you?
Code:
$ telnet 127.0.0.1 25
Trying 127.0.0.1...
Connected to 127.0.0.1.

The most likely problems are config or firewall. Can you please post the sendmail.mc file that you generated you sendmail.cf file from and the output of
