Sending messages to Windoze peers??

Hi guys..

Im on a network with lots of windoze peers..im sharing files thru samba.
In windoze, i can send messages to peers using the "net send <peer> <message>"
How do i do the same in linux?..i mean sending messages from linux to windoz..and from linux to another peer running linux?

Thanx

I found that for linux to windows, this works:
smbclient -M <host>
<wait for it to connect to the host>
<type the message>
<Ctrl-D>

I havent been able to work out how to receive msgs..the linpopup site says its for Mac OS-X..will it work on my Fedora Core 3?
