how can I send a message to a user's console like 'hello' I know you can do it with the talk command but is there any other way to display a message on a user's console? thanks.

you can use the "write" utility

if his username is GUIpenguin then you run "write GUIpenguin hello"
do a "man write" if you want to learn more about it. It is a very simple program
