send mail via exchange server

Hello,
Is it possible to send mail via Microsoft exchange server from a Linux shell?

Can this be done from Linux perl?

Yes, you can

How to test SMTP operations using Telnet

No experience with PERL, but if you can open sockets, you can implement it.

I use it on an intranet webserver (PHP implementation).

Most languages provide modules to send mail via smtp perl,python,php

Yes. I'd check the server and see if SMTP is running on it. Then you can just set up your sendmail service on your Linux box, to point to it as a relay host, and use whatever mail commands you want to send.
