Hi all,
Till day before yesterday "ymessenger" (yahoo messenger) in Linux worked fine. When I run "ymessenger" today, it fails to run and "Segmentation fault" occured. I tried uninstalling "ymessenger" using the following command.
"rpm -e ymessenger" and reinstalled "ymessenger" using "rpm -i rh8.ymessenger-1.0.4-1.i386.rpm". And again executed "ymessenger". But still the same problem occurs. How to rectify this ? I am working in the following environment. Red Hat Linux 8.0, vanilla kernel 2.4.20.
did you do something in particular that could have caused this??just check the .ymessenger (hidden) in your home directory.if you dont have anything valuable in'.ymessenger',just delete it and start ymessenger again.that must solve your problem

Hi all,
I solved the problem. I unistalled "ymessenger", renamed the file "preferences" in /root/.ymessenger and reinstalled ymessenger again. Now it works fine.
