see the vnc session on vnserver

i have used vnc server on win (realvnc) and use the same "window" as the windows user.
in linux is it possible to do the same?

Here's what i mean, i have a laptop at work(win) and logon and use my fc1 box for example azureus, mail etc. At work i started a huge download, and when i got home i wanted to see how much i had downloaded so i log in as myself. But how can i see the vnc session where azureus is working? i use realvnc on both.

Hope my english makes my queistion understandable

I think i know what you're asking for - but please correct me if i'm wrong here:

Do you want to be able to control your computer at work, from home?

This is what i have done to be able to control my windows-comp in the other room:

I installed tightvnc on my laptop, and i install realvncserver on the windowscomp.

Then i connect to the server with:

vncviewer <ip>

I then type in the password, and up pops a window :-)

you should be able to see _everything_ on the screen. Terminals, downloads, pages, msn etc.

realvnc (server): windows

.. I don't know why you can't see anything.
