Hi guys, I have the following problem with my IDE cd-burner and SCSI scanner, the scanner works fine as long as it is turned on (UMAX Astra 1220s), and I have the SCSI emmulation for IDE burner, but it seems like cdrecord -scanbus only detects the burner only if the scanner is turned off. If you could help me to figure it out the beer is on me. They both are on scsibus0, but the ID's differ.
yes, I am using lilo, and there is the append statement added to /etc/lilo.conf, and there is one more detail I was wrong saying that both of them detected on scsibus0 as the matter of fact the burner is detected on scsibus1, and when I plug in my scanner it is detected on scsibus0. Still can't figure it out.
it works now !!! But after a new installation, and i can only access scanner if i run xsane as root not a good idea, how to change the permissions on block device so it is accessable by non-root users?
