scsi redhat

I am trying to get scsi emulation working so I can burn cd's in redhat. I have tried to recompile the kernel, but it won't boot all the way. I don't know if the redhat kernel has scsi emulation turned off or not, could someone please help me out. I can't seem to get any of it to work.

You'd have to post what error you get when you try to boot up, you may also need to boot up with a param like hdc=scsi (if hdc is your cd drive)

Don't have to recompile the kernel.
See the linux documentation proect for CD writing http://www.tldp.org/. All you have to do is load the SCSI emeulation module
insmod ide-scsi

Change bootloader
lilo.conf:
append="hdc=ide-scsi"
rerun /sbin/lilo
grub.conf:
hdX=ide-scsi

/lib/modules/2.4.18-26.8.0/kernel/drivers/scsi/ide-scsi.o: unresolved symbol scsi_register_module_Rfa20b7b0
/lib/modules/2.4.18-26.8.0/kernel/drivers/scsi/ide-scsi.o: unresolved symbol scsi_register_R4c310a81
