screenshot generation


i want to print de screenshot for de output of my program...
is there any command to do the same..??

its gnome..the screenshot is saved..but the printer is not printing the file containing the screenshot..printer used is hp 1018..

Some more questions:
  1. How are you trying to print the screenshot? I assume you are viewing it in some application and printing from that app? If so, what is the application?
  2. Is the printer already working for other applications - e.g. open office?
  3. If so, you might try inserting the screenshot into an OpenOffice Writer document and printing from there.

the screenshot which i want to capture is that of vi editor..
but now i have discovered hp 1018 is not compatible with linux..there is no print driver..
so i saved the screenshot with png extension..
i intend to copy it into a cd and paste it in MSword..(i have windows xp also running)so that i can print it as a picture file..is it possible..??

umm...my question is stupid...but, have you tried pressing the "Print Scr" button on your keyboard??

It looks from this link like you just need to download the proper firmware to use your printer. It does work under Linux, but there is that extra step to get it working properly.
