Screen blanks out after I log out of Gnome

Hey everyone!

I have a huge problem. Whenever I log out of gnome, the screen blanks out and you can't see the main Slackware stuff. I am pretty sure that your supposed to see Slackware, but it is just blank. All I can do is restart with ctrl+alt+del. Has anyone else had this problem or is it really wierd and I should maybe talk to Slackware or Gnome about it. I have tried other wm's but they didn't work.

In case it matters this is the video card I got with lspci

It sounds like your display manager isn't restarting after you end the session. Once you log out, it should restart the display manager and bring up the login screen again.

What happens if you hit CTRL+ALT+F1 after you log out, does it bring you to a console login?

sorry, I wasn't reading right.

ctrl+alt+F1 changes the screen or whatever (note im a newbie), and I know that because the light on my monitor blinks, but nothing shows up.
