Well, as the thread title suggests, it seems that on my system [Ubuntu Linux 6.06] screen(1) is not sourcing ~/.bash_profile. Any ideas on how I can change this?

If you had read the man page, you would have known that user's configuration file is called .screenrc. Once again, man rulz

I don't think your English is bad at all. Even if it were I wouldn't see a need to apologize -- you (presumably) made an effort to learn English as a foreign language as did scores of others on this forum and everywhere else. That certainly isn't something to be ashamed of. That's my opinion at least (as another non-native speaker).
