Scim instllation / use tutorial

First of all I am not sure if this is the right forum to post this type of question to, so my apologies in advance if it is not!

I recently installed MEPIS as my operating system on a laptop that i am trying to set up for my wife. One of the things that she likes to do is to e-mail her family back in Korea.

Can anyone provide instructions and or a tutorial for how to install scim or some other program which would allow her to switch back and forth between english and korean inputs?

Install first of all "scim" itself.

Then, search for scim-input methods for korean. Usally this means a basic library plus a corresponding scim-package. Install first the basic library, at last the corresponding scim-stuff.

Example for anthy (japanese, not korean) would be: install scim itself, install anthy and last install scim-anthy.

After installation and basic configuration, scim is started and ended with a keyboard shortcut.
