Schedule Wake From Standby

[Log in to get rid of this advertisement]
On windows I'm able to schedule a task that will send my computer into standby (or hibernate) and then have another task scheduled that will wake it up. So here is my question:

How do I do that with linux (specifically Ubuntu)?

I have a basic old dell PC and the bios doesn't have any easy features that allow me to do it from there so I need a software option, much like is offered by windows.
