Friends.
I've a problem using sawfish windows mansger. On starting Gnome it takes a long time to start and on starting it gives a warning that it is not a comaptible windows manager, although it was working well before. It also cause title bar to not to display in application window
Help me please
I'm running RedHat 7.1 on P-4 machine
please help me
If you normally boot into console, then type startx KDE or something else. See if it's doing it for all your windowmanagers or just Gnome with Sawfish. Then you can run 'xf86config' and reconfig your X.
But if you do run that, be aware that it will write over your existing xf86 config file. This won't be a bad thing if it fixes it, but if it doesn't you may be in for more than you bargained for.
Make sure you know your devices and your system well if you do reconfig X.
Hackgbpec i have had the same problem and the solution is to open up the Gnome configuration tool and change the windowmanager to someting else then sawfish like enlightenment for example and press try then when enlightenment is loaded select sawfish and press ok and then restart gnome.
I have done that thing u r telling
but for a moment problem solves? and again after restarting 2-3 times it again happens ?
i don't want the the temporarty solution but permanent and also the cause of the problem.
Well for me the problem starts if nautilus craches and locks gnome so that i have to ctrl+alt+backspace out of X and restart gnome.
Dunno why sawfish stops working but it must be some kind of bug in Nautilus.
