Saving messages on server with KMail

Hi,

I'm running Suse 10.1 and having problems with KMail.

Everything works fine except that I can find no way of saving messages on the server. I am sure there must be but KMail help doesn't work! Each time I load KMail, my messages are downloaded and I'm left with an empty server.

As I spend some time outside of the UK it is essential that I can access my servers store of emails via webmail.

When I switch to MS Windows I don't get any emails already downloaded to KMail although it is set to keep messages for 120 days. Is there any way to set this up on KMail or have I just misread the documentation and menus?

what version of kmail are you using? i am using 1.8.2 (kde 3.4.2) and there IS a "leave fetched messages on the server" crossbox in my settings->configure kmail->accounts->modify->general tab. if you're using 1.8.2 or higher it must be the same ;) for you too check it out.

Hi, Back again.

I've got KMail 3.5.1 level'a'.

Your instruction works well thanks. Everythings fine and dandy. One more question maybe you can help.

When I started Suse, I went to Firefox and onto the forum. I printed the page then minimised the window so that I could report back to you.

When I was ready to do that, I can't find the mimised window anywhere to restore, I sometimes have 5 or 6 windows minimised which I have to leave like that until I shutdown.

If this sounds a bit slow please allow for the fact I'm less than a week into linux and it's all a bit of a mystery at the moment.

Thanks.

you did what? and kmail 3.5.1? i think you are reporting your kde version and not kmail. you minimized firefox and now you can find it? you mean the whole 'firefox application' right?
where is your panel? the cool thing that is at the bottom of your desktop? right click on it add to panel->applet->taskbar
if i understood your situation then the above is your solution else you might care to explain a bit more verbosely.

:newbie:

Here's the right info:

Sorry about that, I clicked on the wrong 'about' button.

KMail 1.9.1 (using KDE 3.5.1 level "a" Suse 10.1)

:study:
I've solved my minimised window problem by setting up the taskbar so everythings OK at the moment.

Thanks for all your help.

Bye.
