Samba - wont accept pass from XP machine
I have samba set up and running on my Suse 7.3 machine. On my XP Home machine I can see it, but when I click on it it prompts for username and password. I entered the smb username/pass and I get login failures. I have encryption on and I'm a WORKGROUP. Any ideas what is wrong? Both smbd and nmbd are running.

Ok just calling the word "pal" don't have to react so "big" right. haha
By the way nuzzy you can use SWAT which much easier to configure.

Sounds like my setup. I have samba running and I can see it from my XP box, but it won't prompt for a username/password (it wants me to see my administrator )

Try this from the XP box in the command prompt:
net use * \\nuzzy\site /user:nuzzy\george
You'll get prompted for george's SAMBA (not necessarily the same as UNIX) password. Enter it and tell us what happens!
