samba does not keep windows attributes (read only files as read only for example)
hello
I want my samba to keep my windows attributes exactly what the user setted in windows I mean if it has read only file in win box and copy it to samba share ,samba keep it read only and same for other attributes but it does not do it now with my configuration:
Quote:
[global]
workgroup = DOMAIN
server string = File Server
interfaces = lo, eth0, tap0
bind interfaces only = Yes
passdb backend = ldapsam:ldapi://%2fvar%2frun%2fslapd%2fldapi
log level = 1
syslog = 0
log file = /var/log/samba/%m
max log size = 50
smb ports = 137 138 139 445
name resolve order = wins bcast hosts
time server = Yes
printcap name = CUPS
wins support = Yes
ldap admin dn = cn=ebox,dc=RAA,dc=raad,dc=com
ldap group suffix = ou=Groups
ldap idmap suffix = ou=Idmap
ldap machine suffix = ou=Computers
ldap suffix = dc=RAA,dc=raad,dc=com
ldap ssl = no
ldap user suffix = ou=Users
full_audit:failure = none
full_audit:success = connect opendir open disconnect unlink mkdir rmdir rename
map acl inherit = Yes
map hidden = Yes
map system = Yes
vfs objects = full_audit
now when I create a read only file from windows in samba I can change that file with no error or warning and when I check the read only check box in file properties (which I copied or created as read only) it does not checked.
what is wrong?
I am using ext3 file system and it does not related to inheritance because I change the read only attribute in shared folder but it does not take effect.
