RW access with NTFS

A while ago while trying to mount an NTFS drive as read-only, I accidentally typed rw instead of ro, and the drive appears to be fried. I was simply wondering if it is possible to recover data that was on this drive, or if it is simply gone for good.

Also, if the data cannot be restored, can the drive itself be formatted and used again?

If you think that it is corrupted you can try this:

I've never used this brand but better than nothing, right

Try google: http://www.google.com/search?q=restore+data+ntfs+linux

If you cannot restore then you can always format. Assuming of course you didn't have some sort of hardware failure. Always a possibility.
