Running Slow

My mandrake box is running very slow at the moment and I'm not sure why. According to Gnome and KDE system guard my CPU is on 100% but on the process list the programs running do not sum up to 100%. Can anyone help me?

Output of ps -aux or top to find out what that 100% cpu usage and the running process that is causing it is? top and or ps -aux will be more reliable than the GUI apps in KDE or Gnome.

There is my TOP output. What is the id load and why is it so high. Could this be a swap memory problem and if so how to i avoid it?

The 'id' load that you are looking to refers to 'idle'. Therefore, you are 94.7% idle at that moment which means your computer is not working hard at all running all the things you told it to run .

Your user load average sitting at 2.05 is somewhat higher than normal, just depends on what your running as well but what exactly are you running at the given time your machine slows down since no swap is being used and top is reporting 97% idle cpu time?
