Unhappy running mpeg problem in Red Hat 9

When I try to run mpeg/avseq to watch a video, this is what the screen pops out:

Nautils has no installed viewer capable of displaying "/mnt/cdrom/mpegav/avseq01.dat"

does this mean i dont have a program that can play mpeg files??
how can i fix this problem??

well it's a .dat file which isn't a standard extension for mpeg. i would assume that http://mplayerhq.hu will be able to play it just fine though
