RPM Rebuilding -->NVIDIA drivers

Brohiem's -

I have finally have installed a error free install of mdk 9. I had previously ran into problems installing packages from disk 2 for some reason. That problem has since been corrected.

However,

All the other times I have been able to rebuild my nvidia drivers from source without any problems. I've installed or attempted to get a clean installation so taht everything I would need to compile this or compile that would be in place. Up till last night it has.

I did the same install, or so I thought, that I have done the other previous 6 times.

installed the rpm, rpm build and rpm dev or whatever it is and all the necessary packages that go with it (python etc..) but for the damn life of me I can't get it to compile correctly. I know this is the farthest thing from being specific but that is, I guess, my intent.

Where do you start to look for a problem when presented with an attempted rpm rebuild failure?

darn i'll have to wait till i get home

If the rpm fails I would get the tar.gz files and try them

Good question, maybe the source will fail for the same reason, I don't know. But I use the tarball and have had no problems yet
