rpm packages

I can't install rpm packages using kpackage anymore. I click install, but they simply don't install. I used to beable to install them. what could be the problem?

can you install them manually..

rpm -i name-of-rpm.rpm

man rpm for more details..

no, I tried that. The progress '####' just goes through really fast and nothing gets installed. It's quit odd. I don't know what could be causing this. I tried installing several different packages to make sure it wasn't just that one, but it won't install any of them. They were all packages that I uninstalled and then tried reinstalling, but I don't think that should matter.
