rpm can't make up his mind

Please take a look at the code below:

-----------------------------
[root@ofer rpm]# rpm -i openal-0.0.8-1.i586.rpm
package openal-0.0.8-1 is already installed
[root@ofer rpm]# rpm -q openal-0.0.8-1.i586.rpm
package openal-0.0.8-1.i586.rpm is not installed
----------------------------

How can that be?? Is there something wrong with my linux (Fedora Core 2) ?

Should I be worried?

Do you need to remove or upgrade said package? If so, try the erase option in rpm.
Otherwise, ignore
If you are curious, read man rpm. It is heavy stuff--who would have thought that a package manager would have so many options.....

the right command for querying an installed package is:
rpm -q openal-0.0.8-1
you must not give the rpm file name but the package name.
you can get the package name by:
rpm -qa|grep openal
