RPC: failed to contact portmap (errno -5).

[Log in to get rid of this advertisement]
I am not running nfs on my box which is debian. Hence I'm not running portmapper. However, when I boot, I see this in the dmesg:

RPC: failed to contact portmap (errno -5).
portmap: server localhost not responding, timed out
RPC: failed to contact portmap (errno -5).
lockd_up: makesock failed, error=-5
portmap: server localhost not responding, timed out
RPC: failed to contact portmap (errno -5).

How can I figure out what's trying to use portmap and failing during boot and stop it?

Install portmap and run:
rpcinfo -p
It will list the programs that used portmap.
