rootkit copy protection

Does rootkit copy protection pose a problem in Linux? I own only one CD with rootkit (XCP), and was wondering if I should avoid playing it on this Linux system. (I know Sony offered to take back the CDs and exchange them for rootkit-free copies, but I never cared to go to the trouble.)

(It's not particularly important, because all I have to do is play this CD in my DVD player.)

No. How could it find anything to rootkit?

Depends on the music I think ;-p If it's something like Mercyful Fate's Melissa then beware kittehs will die horribly during playback. It's said they can be resurrected but according to one source that'll require access the Ludlow (not Castle Rock), Maine pet cemetery.
