root userid problem...

problem is ....
i want to had the power user like root. i added a new user ROOTS
changed its uid and groupid to that of root which was 0(zero)

now the problem is that all the error mails and logs r forwarded to root login which is the access of our teacher.
wt i want is that all mails and error logs r to be forwarded to roots login..
some one suggested me to
echo ""
echo "roots@domain.com" > /root/.forward but i think its going to reverse my need

i want to forward all error and log mails to roots login as by default the y forwarded to root login

This is why you don't create another user along with root with a userid of 0 and all that good stuff. Its a bad security technique.

What are you trying to accomplish by adding and having another user as root?

Try searching this forum, I'm positive there is an excellent thread in either this forum or the Security forum that discusses this topic.
