Root login on Fedora 10

I just upgraded from Fed. 7 to 10. First thing I see is that I can no longer log in (console, of course) directly as root. So if I run some GUI admin thing I have to supply the root PW every time. Is there any way around this hassle? This used to be MY system. Also, even if I su in a terminal window, I'm still not root to any admin GUI tasks. Thanks.

Edit - or just look at recent posts - there's one on this page.

Edit /etc/pam.d/gdm file and remove line as below

auth required pam_succeed_if.so user != root quiet
