roblems with ext3 and xfs on usb HDD
Hi all, recently i asked which fs to use on external HDD. Well all that talk seems to be pointless to extend. Both ext3 and xfs have some serious problems when copying large amounts of files to the ext. HDD.
After certain period (while transferring data) of time i got I/O errors and drive had to be remounted to be operational again on both file systems (ext3 or xfs). No i got a concern that my hardware may be broken but comes out that's not the case. I re-formated back to fat32 and problem vanished.
Now, i understand that FAT32 is much more simple FS, and it looks like that there is some problem with more advance FS on Linux while doing transfers via USB.
Any got similar problems ? Any advise ?
