Riddle me this on 2.6.10

I got my 2.6.10 kernel however it has the stragest options

It is an Intel 845G Chipset with a 2.8 P4 (512 PC2700) Now by all logic one when compiling ones kernel should elect a x86 chipset e.g.

CONFIG_MPENTIUM4

But I used this and got a lookup up 6 lines into boot at when initrd is just being put into ram summit like
[ Linux @ 9381273bytes ]

You know the line

So I tried different processors
CONFIG_MVIAC3

works dont know why

Now can include me dmesg and .config but there massive. If anyone is interested

Do you mean it has strange options when you compiled it? You have to configure those things yourself. It doesn't do it automatically.

Well when one does a make oldconfig from a working config from /boot then it does automatically config what happened was the MPRENTIUM4 option did not work it locked up after the initrd insert, then through trial and error I tried MVIAC3 and that instructions set works now I can see why these would be very similar from the x86 family. But I also would of thought the C3 versus P4 instruction set would use different mneomics for say PM.
