Revert back permissions


hi,

on a certain i gave

#chmod -R 555 Ora10g

Now I want to revert back to the original permissions?.

Anyways I can go back to original permissions?

ok, got ur point.

This was the original permissions i had on most directories.

How do I get 'd' in the beginning?. 700 is does not give 'd' in the beginning?.

ok. I shoudl have checked before i posted. 'd' is for directory. 700 is ok.

To change permissions on all files/directories located in Ora10g directory:
Code:
# chmod -R 644 /path/to/Ora10g
substitute 644 for whatever you want
To change permissions on directories only:
Code:
# find /path/to/Ora10g -type d -exec chmod 700 {} \;
