resting and practicing vim


anyone remember that text-based game which keys are similar to those used by vim?

No. The closest things are nethack and adom, but they won't help you to learn vim. If you want to learn vim - just use it for editing all texts for a week or two. Just don't use any other editor and keep some vim-related books nearby.
